Bernina red train

Wonders of nature and landscapes that will leave you speechless are waiting for you on one of the most spectacular high-altitude railways in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008, the Bernina Red Train departs from Tirano (429 m) goes up the spectacular helical viaduct of Brusio and climbs up to Ospizio Bernina station (2253 m), and then descends again, being cradled, to the valley of the Inn river: the upper Engadine and the life styled St. Moritz

Bike, E-Bike & Cycling

For cycling and mountain biking enthusiasts, Tirano is the ideal starting point. E-bikes, road-bikes, MTBs, Citybikes: itineraries of all kinds await you, from the famous Alpine passes of the Giro d'Italia such as the Stelvio Pass, Gavia Pass, Mortirolo Pass to the spectacular Sentiero Valtellina (114 km ) that starts from Bormio and ends on Lake Como, or Via dei Terrazzamenti Retici which crosses vineyards and ancient cellars. Nordic Walking and Trekking

Tirano hosts the largest competitive Nordic Walking event in Italy ONWF. Two non-competitive Nordic Walking (with poles) and Walking (without poles) are proposed: a walk through the city accompanied by a tour guide of about 6 km (Relax route) suitable for everyone and a panoramic walk on the way of the terraces of the Terziere Superiore from Bianzone to Tirano of about 10 km suitable for slightly more trained walkers (Panorama route). However, you can also discover the wonders of the terraces of Valtellina during the rest of the year, at a slow pace on your own or through guided tours, along one of the Valtellina Wine Trekking, a network of itineraries (from 3 to 7 km, 1-2 h) between rows, 2,500 km of dry stone walls, castles, sanctuaries, evocative views that will accompany you to the cellars of the producers of Nebbiolo delle Alpi where you can enjoy a tasting to learn about our wines. But the trek does not end here, right in the central part of Valtellina where the Wine Roads start, we find the two main massifs of Disgrazia and Bernina, which can be an opportunity to undertake on an itinerary on foot alone or with mountain guides and Nordic Walking experts.

Five crazy down

There are five spectacular mountain bike descents that from the high altitudes of the mountains of Valtellina and Valposchiavo (Switzerland) plunge to the bottom of the valley along dirt roads, mule tracks, military roads and paths, specially marked for bikers. Some easier, others more challenging, but all fun, must be tackled with good physical ability and knowledge of downhill techniques.
